Re)Cover:  After prolonged states of stress and high allostatic load the body’s reserve tank becomes emptied. Glands become resistant to correct feedback mechanisms and are unable to produce sufficient hormonal substrates. Substantial mental and cellular strain produces a state of hypo-functioning, inadequate stress response when needed, exhaustion, irritability and listlessness. This state may also be experienced even after short but intense states of over activity and stress, and resultant poor recovery.
